Roxy Star

For those of you who personally know me, you are aware that my dog, Roxy, is extremely important to me. I don’t go anywhere without taking her with me. With technology being what it is, I was able to communicate with friends and family while I was in Europe (this past fall) but for obvious reasons I couldn’t connect with  Roxy. I never got homesick while I was away for six weeks, but I really missed my baby girl.

So many people are asking me what am I doing with her while I’m away for the next year-and-a-half. Well, I regret to say she cannot come with me. It’s just too expensive and being that I will be doing quite a bit of site-seeing, I don’t think it is fair to take her. So, I’ll be leaving her in my dad and brother’s quite capable hands until my brother goes off to college in the fall. Then, my aunt and uncle will take over for the remainder of my time away.

Yes, I am really struggling with leaving her – and I will miss her greatly. But I am comforted by the fact that she loves her extended family and will thoroughly enjoy her time playing with their dogs. If it turns out I don’t move back to the States, I will make a determination on whether to get her shipped out to where I’m living. Until then, I’m enjoying every moment I’ve got left with her!
